Check the pen

Remove the cap and confirm the solution is clear, with no visible particles or discolouration.

Attach a new needle

Twist a fresh needle onto the pen, then remove both the outer and inner needle caps.

Prime the pen

Dial a small test amount and press until a drop appears at the needle tip, clearing any air from the line.

Dial your dose

Select the amount for your protocol using the dose counter on the pen body.

Prepare the site

Choose a site consistent with your protocol and clean the area before use.

Deliver the dose

Insert the needle fully and press the plunger steadily until the counter reaches zero.

Hold, then withdraw

Hold for a few seconds before withdrawing the needle, to ensure the full dose is delivered.

Dispose of the needle

Remove the used needle immediately and dispose of it in a sharps-safe container.

Store the pen

Recap the pen and store it as directed on the lot’s Certificate of Analysis, typically refrigerated.
